This module examines strategic management concepts, theories, and frameworks to inspire strategic thinking about organizational growth and competition. The module also aims to raise awareness of how external and internal organizational environments influence strategic decisions and an organization’s capacity to achieve sustainable competitive advantages. You will critically assess the overarching challenges, issues, and solutions associated with modern organizational operations and integrate broader strategic concerns related to general management activities. Furthermore, you will critically examine the role sustainability plays in shaping organizational strategy. The module seeks to develop your ability to analyze and critique the existing body of knowledge in strategic management and connect theory with practice, as well as enhance your ability to identify, evaluate, and apply relevant frameworks to business situations and case studies. This module will incorporate the following attributes: Problem Solver and Global Citizen.
 

This dissertation module offers you the chance to undertake individual research under tutor supervision. The research focus must be relevant to business management, and if you have chosen a specific pathway, relevant to that pathway. The work must be academically rigorous, original, and address a distinct question or issue. You will need to assess theories, principles, concepts, and models related to current business and management practices. The work will also necessitate conducting primary research and demonstrating familiarity with various research methodologies. Throughout the process, you are required to critically evaluate your skill development.
